Application procedure (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy)

The entrance examination is composed of written tests and personal interviews.

Written examinations: The written part of the entrance examination is carried out using the online Moodle interface. Applicants can take the online tests using their own computers at home. The written examination is a multiple choice test in Medical Biology, Medical Chemistry, General English and Biomedical English. Each topic consists of 20 questions.

Interviews: The personal interview, which focuses on the applicant’s professional attitude, affinity and motivation towards medical sciences, as well as on their communication skills in English and it also includes an oral examination to measure the applicant’s knowledge in the above disciplines. The interviews including the oral exam will take place after the written tests. They will be held in person by default, but online interviews on the Zoom platform may be also introduced depending on the status of the epidemic. Applicants will be notified in a timely manner of the offline or online nature of each interview so that they can prepare.

The applicants’ performance at the entrance examinations is evaluated by the Admission Committee of the University. The Board makes decisions regarding admissions within 2 weeks after the entrance examination.

Application procedure (all health science programs)

Written examinations: The written examination consists of a multiple-choice test in Biology. A specific motivation letter in English must be submitted, based on the given questions for the chosen field (500-1000 words).

The applicants’ performance at the entrance examinations is evaluated by the Admission Committee of the University. The Board makes decisions regarding admissions within 3 weeks after the entrance examination.

Proof of English

The applicant’s proficiency is verified through the written tests and an interview in English language. In addition to basic knowledge in biomedical English is also required to pass the entrance examination. This refers to terminology used in natural sciences such as biology and chemistry.

Application procedure (medicine and dentistry)

The online entrance exams consist of an online written part, and an oral interview through Skype/Zoom. The written part is taken on the university exam platform, which is only accessible through individual links sent out to each examinee before the exam by email.

Written examinations: The written exam includes multiple choice questions in Biology (20 questions), Chemistry (20 questions), General English (40 questions) and Medical English (20 questions). The duration of the exam is 1 hour and 40 minutes. 

Interviews: The oral part is a 20-30 minute personal interview with a university professor about medicine related questions and motivation by Skype or Zoom.

In case of an unsuccessful entrance exam an applicant can only repeat it twice! 

Candidates for the General Medicine or the Dentistry Programs, possessing a B.A. or B.Sc. degree or currently studying for that in a medicine-related field (at least 1 year completed at the time of application) are encouraged to apply, as early during the application period as possible. They may be exempted from the entrance examination and afterwards there is a possibility to get the previous studies recognized, too.

Application procedure (pharmacy and biotechnology)

There is only an oral exam interview for the Pharmacy (PharmD) Program as well as for the Biotechnology BSc and MSc Programs. The oral exam is a 20-30 minute personal interview with a university professor about medicine related questions and motivation by Skype or Zoom.

The application period starts on 1st November 2024 and the application deadline is 30th June 2025. Since admission is continuous, the earlier you apply, the more spots are still free.

The entrance exam interview can be taken between 1st March and 12th July 2025.

The Entrance Examination consists of a written and an oral part in Biology, Chemistry* (including Organic, Inorganic and Biochemistry) and English Language. By the request of the applicants, Physics might be chosen instead of Chemistry.

Written examinations: The examination is conducted on the University’s online testing platform Coospace. The exam will be monitored via Zoom. Students will have 80 minutes to complete it. There is no time limit set by question and the applicants will see only one question at a time. Each test contains three sections: 20 multiple-choice Biology questions, 20 multiple-choice Chemistry questions, 20 English Language questions (General and Medical English). The questions are multiple-choice questions, all of them with only one correct answer. Each correct answer equals 1 point. (No points will be deducted if you give a wrong answer.)

Interviews: The oral part of the examination – interview with a University Professor – is conducted via Zoom and will last for about 20 minutes. Following a conversation on general issues you will be asked 2 questions in Biology and 2 questions in Chemistry in English Language. The schedule of the oral exam will be announced after the written exam.

The applicants are allowed to participate in a maximum of two examinations during one application period.

Application procedure (physiotherapy and nursing)

If you are applying to the Physiotherapy and Nursing Programs only, the entrance examination will cover only the assessment of your English language proficiency. In case of parallel application to the General Medicine, Dental Medicine or Pharmacy Programs, you need to participate in the regular entrance examination.

In 2025 entrance examinations for all health science programs will be organized online from the end of February until the middle of July every second week.
